MediaNext has taken under its wings Menaka Prakashan, a 50-years old publishing house with a rich literary tradition and some the most popular book and magazine titles in Marathi.
Under Menaka Prakashan, 3 periodicals – Maher, Menaka and Jatra – and a quarterly journal – CASS (English) – are published apart from over 100 book titles.
Among the periodicals, Maher, which is published monthly, is targetted at the urban, educated woman in the family. Menaka, which is also a monthly, is targetted at young (20 – 35 years age), urban, independent woman. Jatra is a very popular magazine with Humour as its main theme. In its heydays, Jatra has set records in circulation figures in Marathi language. Currently, it is served in form of a Diwali issue (annual) which is among top 5 Diwali issues in terms of popularity.
Pune-based the Centre for Advanced Strategic Studies (CASS), under the leadership of its current Director – Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale (Retd.) has embarked on publishing a Quarterly Journal in English starting January, 2014. The inaugural issue of the English edition was released in Pune on the 10th of January 2014 by The Governor of Chattisgarh, HE Shri Shekhar Dutt, SM.
Under the book publishing division, Menaka Prakashan has some of the most popular book titles in Marathi. The titles span both fiction and non-ficton categories.
